- What inspired you to become a yoga teacher? Yoga has been a part of my life since college. After the birth of my third daughter, I realized that it was time to take my affinity for the principles of yoga to the next level. So, when she was 7 months old I embarked on the journey of yoga teacher training. My life has been fuller, richer and filled with more compassion than ever before. Knowing that I can share the gift of yoga with my students is the most gratifying part. Not to mention the mental, spiritual and physical satisfaction that I enjoy. I love a win win. - How do you describe your style of teaching? My style of teaching focuses on stress and anxiety release, connecting the body with the breath, core development and a complete asana experience. In every class I give I focus on facilitating finding balance, center and a sense of calm in the face of this fast paced world. I remind my students about self care and self nurture. - What is your favorite thing about teaching? Giving back, sharing the gift of yoga, helping people achieve their most authentic and radiant selves. - How has yoga changed you/your life? Yoga has become an integral part of my life and is my passion. My family, friends and students are benefiting from what I have learned by releasing what isn’t serving them and inhaling positivity. Their body, mind and spirit connection is deeper, they are sleeping better, things are more in balance. It has changed my life in ways that are beyond explanation, by elevating everything I do to a more spiritual and peaceful level. - What are you passionate about outside of your classes? Outside of yoga I am a mother to three young daughters, I work in real estate, I enjoy organic gardening and cooking, Ayurveda, world travel, tennis, scuba diving and an overall healthy lifestyle. - Any parting wisdom to share with your students? When you take the time to join me in class you are investing in yourself, in clearing your mind, finding balance and uniting your body with your spirit and breath. Be true to yourself, love yourself, find compassion, find the beauty in daily life and allow yourself to be open to receiving positive energy. -Namaste Join Daria for class Sundays at 1pm! |
